TV Series Watch-Time Calculator - Free Online Tool
Estimate the time to finish a TV series.
About this tool
Estimate uninterrupted viewing time from the number of seasons, episodes per season, average episode runtime in minutes, and playback speed. It assumes the same episode count and average runtime across every season.
How it works
- Enter a whole number of seasons and the assumed whole number of episodes per season.
- Enter average episode runtime in minutes and playback speed as a multiplier, such as 1 or 1.25.
- Review the estimated total watch duration and episode count at the selected playback speed.
Example use cases
- Series at normal speed: Four seasons with 10 episodes per season at an average of 42 minutes per episode total 1,680 minutes, or 28 hours, at 1× speed.
- Faster playback: The same 40 episodes at 42 minutes each take an estimated 22 hours 24 minutes at 1.25× speed, not including pauses or breaks.
Frequently asked questions
What if seasons have different episode counts?
This calculator assumes every season has the same episode count and average runtime. For a more tailored estimate, calculate each season separately or use average values that represent the series.
Does the estimate include breaks or ads?
No. It divides total assumed episode runtime by playback speed and estimates uninterrupted viewing. Add separate time for breaks, ads, recaps, or buffering.
